THE PILLARS OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

ACUPUNCTURE

Your practitioner using their Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge, will select specific acupuncture points that are directly related to your main complaint.

Acupuncture has a wide range of applications from gynaecology & fertility (pre & post-natal care), psycho-emotional, musculoskeletal, and acute/chronic conditions.

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is a Traditional Chinese Medicine method which involves the burning of mugwort (Artemisia Vulagaris) to treat and prevent disease when applied to acupuncture points.

The strong heat of moxa helps open up channels to regulate qi and blood, expel cold and dampness, warm the uterus, regulate menstruation, heal the digestive system and turn a breech feotus.

FIRE CUPPING

Cupping along the channel meridians can improve lymphatic drainage, moving stagnant blood, qi and cold and also remove any excessive internal heat.

The colour of your cupping marks are an indication of the stagnant toxins being released through the pores of your skin. The darker the mark generally means lots of stagnancy to detox. This is a normal healing reaction, and there is no pain involved.

The treatment begins with careful observation, palpation, and assessment of the abdomen, followed by the use of gentle, warming oils and massage techniques to ease tension before performing a deep abdominal massage.

Fùbù (Abdomen) Care Treatment is a highly profound abdominal massage the assists individuals to connect deeply to their core physically, emotionally, spiritually and energetically.

TCM NUTRITIONAL THERAPY

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, food is medicine.

What you put in your body, and how you are consuming it directly can affect your health.

Chinese food therapy veers away from the idea of calories, vitamins, omegas etc, instead it looks at how diet and food can improve a particular diagnosis or condition.

Each individual is different, therefore specific foods can be incorporated to maximize healing and improve your overall well being.

If you are a particularly “Hot” type of person, “cooling” foods would be recommended, if you are someone who is low in energy, foods that will boost your energy will be incorporated.

Your practitioner will offer some advice in the TCM framework to improve the efficacy of your treatment.

gUA SHA

Gua Sha is an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine technique where the smooth part of a stone tool is dragged along the skin surface to inhibit a circulatory response.

This method was commonly used to reduce fever, reduce pain, clear heat from the lungs and revive consciousness.

In modern times, Gua Sha has made its way into the beauty world, and it benefits in restoring facial tissues, promoting blood flow, and activating the facial muscles to sculpt the face. This is why your skin looks so plump and glowing after a facial Gua Sha.

cHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a system of medicine based on a long history of empirical observation and on centuries of clinical trial and error.

Chinese Herbal Medicine draws on a variety of sources for medicine such as plants, animals, insects and minerals.

Herbs can be classified into categories of effect, this may include “dispersing, astringing, tonifying, sedating, warming, cooling, moistening, drying, eliminating toxins”.
